R13: sc around (24)

R14: dec around (12)

Add your stuffing now. Don’t overstuff as you want to be able to carve the indents for the pumpkin segments.

R15: dec around (6)

Finish off, leave a long tail. Close hole with tail, then use it to create the segments. Bring your tail down to the bottom through the middle, then up around the outside and pull tight. Back down through the middle and create your next segment. Keep on like this to make a total of 6 segments. Weave in thread to finish off. (See photos).

Making up!

  • Slightly stuff the witches hat just to maintain the shape, then stitch to the pumpkin head centrally.

  • Choose where you want your face to be, I chose the side with the fattest segments.

  • The eyes want to be about 1-2 stitches below the hat brim. It’s around row 10 counting from the bottom. Leave about 3 stitches between the eyes. Use the thread ends to sew them at the top and one stitch at the bottom to secure. (See photo).

  • Leave one row between the bottom of the eyes and the mouth. Stitch a zig zag pattern. I made the mouth the same width as the eyes.

  • Design your own pumpkin face if you wish.

  • Have fun and happy Halloween from Moorside Homecrafts!
